Kaiafas
Kaiafa is the tranquil municipality of Zacharo, in the Peloponnese 3.5 hrs drive from Athens.
The Kaiafas thermal springs have been renowned since antiquity. They include two springs, called Anigrides Nymphes and Geranio, which flow out of caves at the foot of Lapitha Mountain.










The thermal springs at Kaiafas are situated on the eastern shore of the Kaiafas lagoon, within a natural cave where warm, mineral-rich waters rise from within the Earth.
Kaiafa's Therapeutic Centre is situated south of the Ilia prefecture, at the feet of Lapitha Mountain, in a wonderful area covering approximately 550 hectares, with a coastline of 3.5 km, on Kaiafa's Lake, at Loutra. The property includes the Kaiafas forest, which has been designated as a landscape of natural beauty. The building was renovated in 2007–2008 and features, apart from the common areas, a reception and waiting area, a doctor’s office, private bathtubs (13), and an outdoor pool.
Properties of the thermal springs water of Kaiafa.
The “Geothermal G3 Kaiafa” spring is recognised as a natural thermal spring with a temperature of 32-34°C.
It is characterised as: hypothermal, saline, hypertonic, medicinal, chlorinated, moderately sulfuric, carbonated, metallic. You will find a modern hydrotherapy centre with private baths and an outdoor pool, as well as other areas for various treatments.
The thermal water of the Hydrotherapy Centre is characterised as hypothermal, hydrothionic, chlorinated sodium, and neutral ph.
The spring has trace of the following elents – Na+, Cl-, SO4 2-, Ca2+, K+, Sio2, Sr2+, F-, B-.
Based on available chemical analyses, the water content of the springs is suitable for balneotherapy treatments.
The thermal springs of Kaiafa are helping to treat the following diseases: Chronic Rheumatism, Myositis, chronic degenerative conditions resulting from injuries, Neuralgia, and Atypical Gynaecological Inflammation.


The Kaiafa's Thermal Springs can be reached by car or train. The Kaiafa Thermal Springs Hydrotherapy Centre is located in Kaiafa, on the border between the Municipality of Zacharo and is 27 km away from Pyrgos and approximately 25 km away from Ancient Olympia.
The Kaiafa's Thermal Springs Hydrotherapy Centre operates from mid-June until the end of October.
